Is It Safe To Take Duphaston During Pregnancy?

Dear sir/madam. My wife had IUI treatment on 22 and 23rd of August 2015. Doctor instructed to take duphaston for 30days 3philss each day. Today is 13th of september. My wife getting light bleeding on last 2days. It was brownish colour start and now its become light red and its continious but not heavy.Today we had home praganacy test found thin positive result. She had a history of miscarriage 1time. We worried it is a miscarriage again. Is there is any possibility of period while taking duphaston. If its not miscarriage what will be the possibility of bleeding.Please reply waiting for your advice.

Hi,

Progesterone is a natural hormone produced by ovaries. This hormone prepares the uterus for pregnancy. Progesterone supplements after an IUI can improve the receptivity of the uterine lining, thereby increasing the chances of implantation. A very faint line on a home pregnancy test usually means that implantation has occurred.

You need to test again a few weeks later to see if the faint line has become thicker and darker, meaning your pregnancy is progressing. The bleeding could be implantation bleeding is possible which is a small amount of light spotting or bleeding that occurs about 10 to 14 days after conception is normal. Kindly visit your doctor for further management.br>
