Is It Safe To Take Clindamycin Instead Of Neuralgia For Tooth Pain?
I have been put on clindamycin for severe dental pain i have had bad neuralga for 20 yrs plus i normally take amomoxacillan which works, but last wkend i was put on this tablet after taking it there was no ease of pain and now i have been put on clindamycin i have read some many reviews that this tablet is not good to take so what should i do i am taking alot of different medication for different problems, my dentist is aware of all my different medication
As per your query you have preexisting condition of neuralgia over 20 years and Amoxacillin is not giving you relief now and your dentist switch you to Clindamycin which is entirely safe and need not to panic about it. Clindamycin is very effective for orofacial infections against bacteria speacially bacteria which are resistant to Amoxacillin. This drug is avoided in patients with history of colitis which your dentist must have undergone your condition and medications. As in colitis patients it causes GI Upset. You can continue with this.
Hope your concern has been resolved. Get Well Soon. Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
