Is It Safe To Take Axepta And Sizodon For ADHD In Children?

Hello...my 5 yr old dghtr is diagnosed with ADHD n the psychaitrist prescribed axepta 10 mg one tab in mrng n sizodon MD 0.5 mg one tab at night is dis medication is gud for her ? I have already started dis medication since 3 days n noticed a very positive chnge in her behaviour...bt concerned abt ny side effects ........pls help ASAP

I can understand your concern. Anepta is Attenterol and Sizodon is Risperidone. Both these drugs are safe drugs and are not associated with any serious side effects. Attenterol can cause restlessness, insomnia, anxiety, mood lability in children. Sizodone can cause sedation, weight gain, metabolic side effects etc. But these side effects are seen at very high doses. She is on 10 mg Axepta and 0.5 mg of Risperidone and these are low doses of the drugs. In my opinion it is safe to give Axepta and Sizodone to a child. No need to worry about side effects. Please give her drugs as per prescription.
