Is It Safe To Take Amlodipine Twice A Day?

I accidentally took a second pill for amlodipine besylate that I m suppose to take one tablet daily, I took one this morning along with my other blood pressure pill fosinop/HCTZ20 that I have to take 1 in the morning and 1 at night but instead of taking that 2nd one I took a second amlodipine instead, do I have anything to worry about?

Hi.
I can understand your concern.
There's nothing to worry about taking an extra dose of Amlodipine taken inadvertently.
Amlodipine is a long acting (given once daily) calcium channel blocker used in the treatment of hypertension. It is usually prescribed in the dose of 5-10 mg daily. Since you have taken an extra dose of 5 mg inadvertently, there is no need to worry, as one additional dose of Amlodipine generally would not lower the BP too much.
However, I would advice you to consult a physician if you start feeling dizziness, light headedeness or palpitation.
Hope this answers your query.
