Is It Safe To Start Taking Doxycycline A Day After Taking Azithromycin?

Is it safe to start taking Doxycycline a day after taking Azithromycin? I took Azithromycin to treat Chlamydia back in April, but retested positive. My partner is totally against antibiotics, but is willing to take Azithromycin again, since it s only 2 pills and not 2 pills for 7 days. I was wondering if I could take Doxycycline the day after taking Azithromycin with my partner, to make sure the Chlamydia gets cleared so he we don t have to be treated a third time, and to avoid any future discussions with my partner?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that you may be clear after the second course but if you wish you can take an additional course of antibiotics

It is important to remember that you should not be sexual active for at least 7 days after using the medication to prevent re infection and give the medication time to work.

I hope this helps
