Is It Safe To Have A 4th Angiogram ?

I have had 3 CABG twice, AAA , 3 Angiograms last one in 1995 , is it safe to have a 4th Angiogram , will there be existing scar tissue to complicate things ? .If I was not considered suitable for angioplasty in 1995 is it possible that I could be suitable now . ?

You will have no problems with the angiogram itself assuming you don't have a dye allergy or kidney trouble. The challenge will be with whether or not they can find anything that can be treated. That depends on the vessels that were treated in the past as well as the condition of what you have left to work with. Is it safe to have...yes. Scar tissue? Probably not since it's been 11 years. Hope this helps. Jeff the nurse in Nashville.
