Hi
I can understand your concern.
At the outset, my advice would be to consult a gynecologist before taking a decision on whether to use an IUD or not.

An IUD is safe to use if you can’t take the contraceptive pills as you have a fibroadenoma of the breast.
The copper IUD is 99 percent effective in preventing pregnancy

There are two types of IUD:

1. Copper containing IUD which has no hormonal side effects.
2. Hormonal containing IUD which may not be safe for you.

Hope this answers your query.
