Is It Safe To Give Mefanorm For Fever?

hi, Iam srinivas my daughter is 1.8 years old she is having fever from early morning 4 am i have given mefanorm of 2.5ml syrup to her and fever has come down and again after at 9 am fever started should i use the same dose and how many times i should it.

The most appropriate medicine for decreasing fever in a baby is paracitamol (crocin/calpol).
Mefanorm (mefanimic acid) is safe too for fever and can be repeated after 6 hours
The amoujt of dose depends on the weight and repeat amount of the dose is the same, so you can repeat he dose but not earlier than 10 am
A word of advise is not to give medicine (crocin/calpol/mefanorm) for low grade fever (less than 100 degree F)
Fever may take time to disappear once the infection is over which in case of even viral illness takes 6-7 days
Medicines like calpol/criocin/mefanorm are only bringing it down for some time and High fever (more than 104 degee F ) itself is not good for the baby
