Is It Safe To Give Ibugesic Frequently For Fever?

My daughter had fever 101 to 102. Calpol was given twice in a gap of 8 hrs, but the temp did not come down. She had convulsions once. Was told by doc to give ibugesic. Gave 1st dose of 5ml at 8pm and fever had come down within an hour. Gave another dose 2.5ml at 12midnight. But at 2:30 found temp to be around 101 again. Gave her another dose of 2.5ml ibugesic. Is it safe to give ibugesic so often. When can i repeat the next dose again?

HI
Thanks for posting your query to Healthcaremagic .

The dosage depends on the age and weight of your kid . Kindly mention it so that I can advise the proper dosage .

Anyhow it is not advisable to give medication more than the prescribed dosage , especially to children .

If fever is not coming down then certain tests has to be done to find out the cause of infection , also she may require an antibiotic course . Kindly consult your doctor again and ask for tests to be conducted .
