Is It Safe To Give Antibiotic To An Infant For Low Intake Of Milk Formula After Stopping Colic Aid?
My child is 8 months old but is not taking milk (formula) properly, his intake is hardly 30-40 ml at a time. My doctor suggested to do urine & stool test for diarrhea but report was clean. The n doctor suggested to start colic aid & multi vitamin for 5 days. After 2 doses of colic aid, he showed gud response with intake increasing to 100-110 ml at a time . But now again after the colic aid is stopped, teh level of intake have come down to 50-60 ml. Now doctor is suggesting DIOF.
Would like to know if is it safe to give antibiotic. What else can be done

How much is 24 hr intake? If it is less and persistent then child should be examined thoroughly and if required investigated to find out pathology.Emperical antibiotics has no sense in this problem
