Is It Safe To Give ZiFi Drops For Baby And What Is The Dosage?

hi, my kid is 10 months old, 9kg in weight. He is suffering from loose motions since yesterday. The frequency yesterday was 4 times but today he the frequency is increased to 10+ till now. Called his pediatric but he is out of station and on phone he advised to start ZiFi drops 4ml twice. Worried as its a antibiotic and this would be his first antibiotic if we give. Can you please confirm if this is correct and also is 4ml twice a day correct dose for his age and weight. Many Thanks.

Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic.
Your history suggests that your baby is suffering from viral diarrhea.
Antibiotics are not indicated for viral diarrhea.
Give plenty of fluids as well as ORS solution to prevent dehydration.
Sporolac oral may be tried.
Viral diarrhea recovers spontaneously within 5-7 days.
