I have been diagnosed with Vertigo and I am wondering if it is safe to fly. I have a sinus infection that lead to my inner ear issues that caused severe vertigo. Been on medication for three days and a last minute flight is coming up and am wondering if it is safe to fly.
Hi, you can fly and continue your medication. Vertigo is not a contraindication to fly as long as you dont fly the plane. I mean as long as you are not the pilot its ok. You can continue whatever medicines you are taking for the vertigo and fly. The only thing you have to be wary about is when the pressure changes during take off and landing you could have ear ache due to blockade due to Sinus infection. So if you could delay the flight till the infection settles it would be better. You can carry some pain medicines with you and chew on some sweets during the take off and landing. Take care, Dr Rishi, India.
