Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is It Safe To Continue Lisinopril Intake For This BP Level?
I have high blood pressure and 10mg of lisinopril has been prescribed which I have been taking over 1 year. At a recent check-up my bp was 152/100 and my doctor increased the dose to 20mg. I keep track of my bp and my 90 day avg is 136/90. Should I follow my doctors advice?
Hi, i do care for your concern. The drug lisonopril is an ACE inhibitor, which is extensively used for hypertension. It is safe to take this drug, however its is advisable to undergo urine routine test, at least once in six months. You have not mentioned your age, but the present blood pressure is normal following treatment. hence strictly adhere to the advise of your physician, do not skip the dose or alter the dosage without consultation. Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
