Is It Safe To Apply The Canesten HC Cream Again?

Hi All, I am having this problem of red spot on my penis.The skin is all red and shiny,scaly and dry.It gives a light burning sensation as well. I used canesten HC cream for 5 days, all the infection cleared.All the dried skin was disposed and got a fresh skin. I gave a break of 5 days,but unfortunately it came back. I checked for all STI and they were all negative. I started applying the cream again and it has started to lighten up. My question is, is it safe to apply the cream again, I heard that it does thinning of the skin. What is the recommended schedule. What is the permanent solution of the problem, can I take fluconazole tablets. Is it worth visiting a dermatologist. Thanks, Alex

Hi Alex! According to me you should stop applying canesten HC as it does cause thinning and atrophy of the skin if applied for long duration. You should go for fluconazole tablet weekly along with application of plain clotrimazole cream on the affected area for 4 weeks.Don't use soap on the affected area, wash with water only and keep it as dry as possible.
