Is It Possible To Have Both Hyperthyroid And Hashimoto S Disease?

Hello, about a week ago I had gotten my thyroid tested because I wasn t feeling well and I have always had problems with it. I got it tested and I came back a 27 where I should I had been a 3 on the scale. I was told that this makes me have a hyperthyroid. I went and got an ultrasound done on my thyroid this morning and the results for that came back stating that I have Hashimoto s Disease. I did a little of my own research and found that this disease is most commonly found within hypothyroid patients. I have a lot of the symptoms of both this disease and a hyperthyroid patient and I was curious as to if this was possible or if I were over looking something. Please answer. Thank you, Caitlyn

HI
HYPERTHYROIDISM IS FOUND IN THE INITIAL PHASE OF HASHIMOTOS THYROIDITIS.IN THIS CONDITION THERE IS LEAKAGE OF THYROID HORMONES IN BLOOD INITIALLY CAUSING HYPERTHYRIDISM.BUT OVER A PERIOD OF TIME MOST OF THE PATIENTS WILL BECOME HYPOTHYROID.
SO IN YOUR CASE YOU WILL REQUIRE ANTITHYROID DRUGS FOR TREATMENT OF HYPERTHYROIDISM .I WILL ALSO SUGGEST YOU TO DO SERUM TSH TEST DONE ONCE IN 6 MONTHS TO KNOW WHETHER HYPOTHYROIDISM IS SETTING IN.
HOPE I HAVE SOLVED YOUR QUERRIES
WISH YOU GOOD HEALTH
THANKS
