Is It Okay To Go Ahead With The Surgery After An Injection Of Clexane?

Hi, I injected my self with Clexane a return from holiday 12 days ago. I had a P.E 6 years ago.

I am having to have oral surgery shortly, would the effects,(blood thinning) have worn off by now? So would it be OK to go ahead with the surgery at this time? An early response would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to H.C.M. I am Dr Krishna Dubey.
Dear friend , Clexane has half-life of approximately 4.4 hours for a dose of 40 mg. Clexane activity may persist in the plasma for 24 hours. After 12 days its level in blood is negligible. You have to do one blood test PT INR .This blood test will be very helpful for further management and plan for oral surgery.

I suggest you to take Clexane in proper doctor guidance with regular PT INR test.
Thanx for query.
