Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I got what I think is a concussion a few days ago and have to take an 8 hour flight to the US from Europe. In general I feel ok. I never felt dizzy and didn t pass out or lose consciousness at any time over the past few days. I felt nauseous for the first two days but since then haven t at all. I took a 1 hour flight yesterday and other than a little nausea and my head hurting a little bit I was fine. My head still hurts a little and I was just wondering if you think that I will be ok to fly home in 3 days? Thank you
if possible you should avoid air travel for a fortnight. there is possibilities of rupture of minor vessel in concussion and during air travel the flight pressures goes down. hence there is chance of minute bleeding. even slight vasodialatation can cause headache and nausea. so better avoid it for two weeks.
