Is It Ok For 38 Weeks Old Baby To Lethargic And Not Alert?

Our 12 day old grandson is small 5 lbs 15 oz at birth. 19 inches long. He did lose some birth weight to 5 lb 8 oz. breast fed. He seems to sleep a lot and is never alert. I am worried. Is he ok? He was 38 weeks at birth. He seems so lethargic. Worried. Should I be?

Thanks for your query.12 days old baby has got only one job...that is sleeping. All babies loose their birth weight soon aftr birth at around 8 to 11 days they will be weighing less than their birth weight and they will regain this slowly. No need to worry.Just keep on feeding breastmilk and keep a happy mind.
