Is It Normal To Take Aspirin 325 Mg Daily?
I am a 54 year old woman, 172 weight, 5'5". Overall good health until I had a heart attack in March 2012. I have 2 stents in my LAD. I have been of the bloodthinner Effient 10 mg daily. At my recent regular visit to my cardiologist he inform me to stop taking it. The dr and his staff had constantly advised me of the importance of taking my medication and have followed instructions to the letter. I know you don't have much time with patients during visits but he would not explain to me why I am to stop taking this. He did say that he normally changes the prescription to Plavix or another bloodthinner after a year. He did increase my asprin from 81 mg daily to 325 mg daily. Is this normal?

hii... its not advised to take that high dose of aspirin after heart attack, it can cause lot of complications like GI bleeding,. The recommended daily dose is 75mg to 150mg per day. 325 mg is used only for loading at the time of presentation in ER.
