Hi..
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.
I have gone through your query and can understand your health concerns..
As per you complain it is possible that during extraction some part of the tooth is accidentally left out in the socket but at times after complete extraction of the tooth also the interseptal bone which is a thin crest of bone present between the two roots of the tooth is left sharp and irregular and if the
dentist does not notice it and trimming is not done after extraction it can appear as a sharp bony spicule and can be felt from above the gums and at times can also cause irritation and
injury to the overlying gums..
You should consult your dentist and get an
x ray done to check whether it is a root piece or a bony spicule..
If it is a root piece extraction of the same will provide comfort..
In case if it is a bony spicule Alveoloplasty is done in which the gum flap is incised and the bone spicule is trimmed and filed to smoothen it..
You need not to worry as both the conditions can be very well treated..
Hope this information helps..
