Is It Normal To Have Pain In Shoulder Blade While Having Costochondritis?

My gastroenterologist recently diagnosed me with costochondritis and I have started having more pain under my right shoulder blade than really in my rib cage area. Is this normal? Should I consult my PCP or go with the diagnosis and treat with NSAIDs and heat?

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. It is better to have an ECG to rule out any cardiac problems as pain under shoulder blades can be cardiac orgin. If that is clear then it can be due to referred pain from costochondritis. In such case it can be managed with NSAIDs and heat. Hope this may help you.
Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
