Is It Normal To Have Extra Costal Cartilage On The Bottom Of My Front Rib Cage?

hi i was wondering....i was born with extra i guess costal cartilige right on the bottom of my front rib cage..when my grandfather first saw me when i was born, he refeered to me as have a puffed out chest like that of a bird..i feel fine with it , an it actually strengthens and is prominent after i do sit ups....im wondering if its normal???

I have gone through your query.
Usually incident of extra rib is quite common in the population. It is normal and does not cause any problem to person. Like this extra coastal cartilage can be seen and it also doesn't cause any problem. If there is some pain or it is causing any discomfort then treatment can be taken. Otherwise leave it as it is and there will be no problem.

Hi,
It is absolutely normal to have extra rib or pigeon chest until you have any problem. There are chances of compression symptom if cervical rib is present . So don't take stress out of it and enjoy life.
