Is It Normal To Have Erection Several Times A Day And Ejaculation For Long Hours?

I am the partner of a 40 year old Hispanic male. He has what seem to be to him, a very embarrassing problem. He has and keeps constant erections for three to four days at a time. And it happens about twice every month. This has been going on for about 5 years. He is not on any meds, no blood pressure problems, no drugs, and drinks socially. He is in very good physical shape. It is not necessarily cause by sexual desire, and can be very uncomfortable. However, it continues after even several orgasms. He finds it very hard to urinate during this time and is very little. When he is not going through this "cycle" as he calls it, he has very normal erections. I have been with him for 8 months and I find it very hard to keep him satisfied sexually during this time, because he can continue for hours even after ejaculation. I can not physical keep up. To most this may seem like a dream come true, but it's not "normal" is it?
Other doctors he has spoken with want to give him a pill that may cause problem for erection later on. He will not take them. Could this be a urinary problem? A prostate problem? Anything in that category? Either way he needs to get to the right doctor.

Hello
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
This condition is known as "persistent priapism" and not uncommon , may be due to .
1 Idiopathic thrombosis occurring in the prostatic venous plexus .Diagnosis can confirmed by MRI and arteriography. This is a very common cause .
Other less frequent causes are .
2 Leukaemia & sickle cell anemia , diagnosis can be confirmed by peripheral blood film and bone marrow examination.
3 Secondary malignant deposits in the cavernosa or in the pelvis accounts for about 7 % of cases.
In my opinion this is due to disease and consult a VASCULAR SURGEON and get his opinion.
Good luck.
