Is It Normal To Have Back Pain When Diagnosed With UTI?
I went to urgent care on Thursday and told that I had a UTI and given antibiotics. When I went I had urges to urinate frequently and really bad back pains. I have been on antibiotis since Friday morning and while the urges to urinate has gone away the back pain hasnt. Is that normal?
Hello I appreciate your concern UTI might be associated with lower back pain because kidneys are placed by the side of the spine and anterior to spine so inflammation of kidney or ureter may cause pain in lower back pain
You can take anti inflammatory drugs like Ibuprofen or diclofenac for lower back pain for 3 to 5 days
If it doesn't subside with this and after completion of antibiotics for UTI than you should go for an X ray lower spine to rule out any spine related problem Meanwhile avoid lifting heavy weight, sudden bending forward Sleep on a hard bed Have lots of fluids Hope this answers your question Please feel free to ask for more clarification I will be happy to help you Best wishes
