Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is It Normal To Grow Indentation On A Fractured Point?
I had a tib/fib compound fracture with a rod placement in 1998. My leg gives me problems off and on but that is something that I have gotten used to over the years. But I have noticed that where the actual break occurred there is now a much bigger indentation then before and when I rub along that area I feel no muscle but only bone. Do you think I should make an appointment with my ortho or is this a normal?
Hi, I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.firstly i want to confirm from you that wether rod was intact within bone or removed. what happens here is while formation of bone calcium deposits randomly , trying to fuse the fractured site, so the contour of bone changes and forms indentation which may give a problem or may not but based on the site. i dont think you need any specialist consultation regarding your condition, because i feel this as a normal one.
Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.
Wishing you good health
