Is It Necessary To Take Tetanus Shot For Cut In The Finger?

My husband was mowing the grass, he reached down to remove a hanger that was in the grass and cut his finger in about a 2 inch semi circle. We washed, the wound, put peroxide on it and it has stopped bleeding. Am worried about a tetnus shot, he doesn t think he needs one.

The idea is to avoid he injection of the tetanus.
