Is It Advisable To Take Ibuprofen Alternating With Tylenol While On Trintellix, Seroquel, Buspar And Xanax?

I am supposed to be having my wisdom teeth removed. I am currently taking 20mg of trintellix, 150mg of seroquel, 15mg twice daily of buspar, and Xanax .5mg 4 times daily. My question is my oral surgeon wants me to take ibuprofen 600mg every 6-8 hours and alternate with Tylenol. I know that ibuprofen and trintellix seem to have an interaction and can cause bleeding. My worry is I won’t be able to form a blot clot to Protect the wounds. Should I not take ibuprofen? Is it too dangerous?

Hi,

It is generally not advisable to take Ibuprofen and Trintellix together, as the combination can increase the risk of bleeding. If you are concerned about this risk, you should speak to your oral surgeon and your prescribing physician about alternatives to ibuprofen for pain management after your wisdom teeth removal.

Other options for pain management include acetaminophen (Tylenol), ice packs, and soft foods. It is important to follow the instructions of your oral surgeon and your prescribing physician regarding any medications you take before and after your surgery.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
