Hi. My wife 27 years is having type 1 diabetes since 6 years. She was using lupisulin m 30. She needs to come to me in dubai where this insulin is not available. With consultation of doctors she has switched to huminsulin 30 70. Lily since one month. Now her sugar levels are not in control. Pls advise whether both insulin are of same composition. Is it better to come to old insulin or keep on increasing dose of huminsulin until sugar level are in control. Regards
Dear sir i can understand your concern i am very sorry about the condition of madam. in my opinion both lupisulin and huminsulin both are good brands and same composition. As you are telling that madam is type 1 diabetic its slightly difficult to maintain blood sugars with premixed insulins. The best way and internationally approved regimen for type 1 diabetes is basal bolus regimen,In which you will be using a fast acting insulin like novorapid and basal insulin like lantus. this regimen is very flexible and can be tailor made for your wifes requirements. In case you are not willing to change over to new regimen,Increasing the dose of insulin is the only option left over. kindly take care of diet and carb counting.let me know if you need any further clarifications
