Is Hypothyroidism A Hindrance To Undergo Liposuction Surgery?

Good day..i live in Mumbai. I am 33 yrs old, 5 8 tall..and weigh 86 kgs. Until a few years back, I used to weigh 73 kgs and was in good shape. My diet and exercise routine have been the same..but I have had a lot of trouble getting rid of the flab around abdomen area. I also have Hypo-thyrodism and am taking Eltroxcin 100 mcg every day...but have no allergies or other ailments. I would like to know (a) Is hypo-thyrodism a hinderance to undergo liposuction surgery (b) What would be a typical cost for this in a good hospital (but not an expensive one). (c) Is it possible to be discharged on the same day (of course depending on my condition and surgery requirement)...kindly advise..many thanks..Rocky

Hello.
I have gone through your question and understand your concern. In my opinion, liposuction is just a cosmetic approach to your problem which will give you temporary results and you may be disappointed if you get that fat back paying a huge sum of money. Hypothyroidism causes metabolism to slow down leading to storage of fat body. Rather than going for liposuction you may consider seeing endocrinologist and a nutrition expert to guide how to manage weight in long term. All it takes is patience, understanding few basic aspects of hypothyroidism and boosting your metabolism to burn fat using the right dose of medicine prescribed by your doctor, food, physical activity.
Liposuction cost about 70,000 in good medical setup, stay at hospital vary with the procedure selected and patient conditions. Patients with no medical complications are discharged in one day in most cases. And your thyroid levels have to be normal to undergo any surgical procedure as it effects healing. Good luck. Hope your concern is answered. Thank you.
