Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Tests are usually not done for diagnosis of either vitiligo or post inflammatory hypopigmentation. The diagnosis is only clinical. Treatment is usually with Tacrolimus ointment according to age and weight of your child.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Hypopigmented patch in your baby may be either vitiligo or nevus depigmentosus.

Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment.

If it is vitiligo, then Tacrolimus ointment might improve the condition. If it is nevus depigmentosus, then no treatment is required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
