Is Home Treatment Recommended For Schizophrenia Patient?
rhey gave my husband haldol and he went crazy, they they have him in the va and we screamed abiut the drug, they took him off and he sems better but because the nursing home we were going to place him in will not take him, Should I try to bring him back home to live. He was not mean , we just thought maybe he would be happier in a nursing home with other people. Not a good idea

It is unlikely that a mental disorder was precipitated by Haloperidol (Haldol). It is one of the medications used to treat Schizophrenia. He may have experienced some side effects with the drug which improved on stopping it. I think they may have switched him over to another drug therafter. If he is better the treatment can be continued at home with regular visits to the psychiatrist.
