Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

The Peripheral blood smear (PBS) report shows presence anisopoikilocytosis - variation in size and shape of red blood cells. Presence of microcytes suggests iron deficiency state. Thus, iron studies should be performed to determine the iron and ferritin status in body.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
