Is Having Oral Sex With A HIV Infected Person Safe?

Hello, I received oral sex from a person who is HIV. I did some research online and found out that there is no chance getting infected by receiving oral sex. But I want to make sure by asking a doctor. Do I need to get tested to make sure I am not infected?

Hello and welcome.

The chances for transmission of HIV through receiving oral sex from a HIV-infected individual are very low, but not absent completely. Just to make sure all is well I would still recommend a HIV DUO test to be conducted on the 28th day from contact with tis individual.

Best wishes.
