Very good idea!! As you had been cured from TB 3 years back, so there is no harm of doing workout in gym. On the contrary, it will be beneficial for you. I tell you the beneficial effects of exercise:
1.     Controls body weight
2.     Regular physical activity can help you prevent or manage a wide range of health problems and concerns, including stroke, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, depression, and arthritis
3.     Boost mood
4.     Promotes better slle
5.     Sharpens memory
Advice
1.      Do workout in gym at least for half an hour for 4 – 5 days in a week regularly.
2.     Start with a balanced mix of cardio, weight training and flexibility exercises
3.     Take natural high protein like egg, soya bean, pulses, meat, and milk.
4.     Choose food with nutritional calories like potato, banana and dry fruits
5.     Drink 4 – 5 liters of water daily
6.     Chew the food properly to make it easily digestible
7.     Avoid excess intake tea and coffee after meal as they contain tannin which hinders absorption of minerals like iron

Thanks
