Is Giving Allegra And Nasal Diconal Safe For Dry Cough And Fever To An Infant?
My baby is 2 months and 10 days old. She is suffering from cold, dry cough and fever.doctor has prescribed Allegra suspension, macberry junior cough syrup and diconal- S nasal spray. Is it good to prescribe these medicines to my baby??? Pls suggest because i hav purchased the medicine but have not given any dosage to my baby..
Understanding your concern. As per your query your baby have symptoms of dry cough and fever which seems to be due to severe upper respiratory tract infection. It seems to be due to poor and compromised immunity of child. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles with pinch of salt water. Take expectorants. Steam inhalation is very effective for your baby. Allegra with nasal diconal is a safe combination to use. Mast cell stabilizers such as sodium cromoglycate is effective to prevent infection. Avoid cold carbonated beverages. Consult pediatrician without any delay. Doctor may order blood test , throat swab test or may take history. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics amoxicillin or penicillin at least for 10 days along with decongestants and mucolytic agents.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
