Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Further Investigation Required For Varying Blood Pressure?
My husband is 31 years old, 6'1", about 190-195 lbs. He took his blood pressure this morning twice due to feeling "strange". The first reading was 153/104, the second was 180/113. He is calling our Dr., but is there anything else we should be doing?
I UNDERSTAND YOUR CONCERN OF FLUCTUATING BP.. SUCH A HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE AT A YOUNG AGE IS OBVIOUSLY A CONCERN
YOUR HUSBAND NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED BY CAROTID AND RENAL ARTERY DOPPLER.. IF POSSIBLE A URINE CATECHOLAMINE LEVEL MAY BE REQUIRED TO RULE OUT PHEOCHROMOCYTOMA
YOU CAN CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR AND CONSIDER THE ABOVE INVESTIGATION TO RULE OUT CAUSES OF SECONDARY HYPERYENSION
HOPE I HAVE ANSWERED YOUR QUESTION.. YOU CAN MESSAGE ME FOR ANY FURTHER CONCERNS
