Is Flying Safe While Suffering From Blocked Arteries In The Heart?

My husband had 2 stents put in 2 main arteries. 95% & 72% blockage stented. He is 78 yrs old. What are the risks of his flying on an airplane? (a 2 1/2 hr flight, layover 6hrs to rest, then 3 1/2 hr flight). FYI - home is at 3000 foot elevation, flying to Denver s 5600 elevation.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hello,
i can understand your concern. if your husband doesnt have any symptoms right now and has been using his medicines like aspirin and blood pressure medications, there is no worry to travel by an aeroplane even to a higher altitude. if he has asthma or breathing issues, kindly carry the inhalers.
none the less a physical consult prior to travel would be advised.
kindly carry all the medications that your husband takes in case of requirement on the plane.
other than that there is no worry to travel .

hope i have answered your queries. have a nice journey
