Is Flying Safe While Suffering From A Lymphocele In The Abdomen?

I have a lymphocele in my abdomen that developed after prostrate surgery. My question is whether flying in a commercial pressurized aircraft would cause pain as a result of pressure changes on the ground vs flying at 30,000 feet in a pressurized cabin?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

No, there is no dictum that it should cause pain to you if you have lymphocele. If there are pressure changes in the aircraft, usually ear problem people feel a bit but as per my knowledge, there is no problem with the pain.

If you are still worried then take painkiller because you board the flight and it will act for minimum 3 hours which are best for you. But, I don't think so many precautions are necessary.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
