Is Flight Journey Advisable When Large Bruising Under The Nose Post An Injury Is Noticed?

Hello! Two days ago my son fell of his bike and hit the left side of his face on the handlebars. He hit just under his nose, and beside it. There s a large swelling, and bruising, with some dark blood showing under the skin. We are going on a 10 hour flight in two days. Should be we worried because of the bruising?

Hi,

Well, if there are only localized symptoms that do not seem to be spreading then there is nothing to worry about.

But in case if there is severe pain and swelling seems to grow then you need to get him checked.

As of now you should do cold compresses over the swollen area and give anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen.

Also, before you fly once to get him clinically checked for further reassurance.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
