Is Estrogen Topical Safe After Having Cancer?

Avatar universal Is estrogen topical safe after having cancer? pwishum153 Diagnosed with narrow urethra. Symptom were frequent urination, vaginitis, many urinary tract infections. Doctor went in with scope and dye. He said he had to stretch urethra just to get scope in and that it is not pliable. I have had triple neg. breast cancer in 2011. Currently on antibiotics but he also wants me to use estrogen cream by rubbing on labia twice a week for 4 months. Will this be beneficial and safe since I have had cancer? Jul 04 Report

Hello,

Well, in theory, triple-negative cancer isn't going to respond to it. cannot say in your particular case, but generally, estrogen is absorbed and is a risk factor for breast cancer (the postivie not the negative).

And there is more than one thing going on in cancers besides just the growth factors so, I cannot say it's safe.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
