Is Ear Piercing Safe While Having Factor V Leiden Thrombophilia?

I have (double mutated) factor V leiden, factor VII leiden, and protein s deficiency... combined gives me a 200% chance of getting a blood clot. Is it safe for me to get a piercing (I got my ears pierced when I was little, before I knew of my disorders) or a tattoo?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is better to avoid piercing. It might lead to thrombosis at the puncture site and which might lead to non-healing infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
