Is Ear Numbness A Side Effect Of Tympanoidectomy ?
five weeks ago i had tympanoidectomy and as expected i have some near numbness, but today for some reason my ear felt number than ever. I haven t been feeling well today, and I went ahead and washed my car. Could I be retaining fluid in the ear causing this type of numbness. Could I contact my ENT. Is this cause for concern. I should say that I applied an ice pac to the ear and it feels better.
Do not worry! This is a normal thing to happen because of the division of the nerves supplying the skin. The nerves thus divided causes numbness, but, once the nerves regenerate, things will come back to normal.
