Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my 23 year old son suffers from anxiety/depression. He has uncontrolable crying sometimes. He lives on his own and works construction. He had two major concussions that I know about. One in the 8th grade during basketball and one in his senior year during football. I'm curious if the issues he's having with anxiety be the cause from the concussions
Hello and welcome to Healthcare Magic. Thanks for your query.
I understand that you are cconcerned about your son's anxiety and depressive symptoms. Though head injury can sometimes result in psychological problems and personality changes, from the history that you have provided, it seems unlikely that the concussions which your son had many years ago could be the cause of his symptoms now.
Since you have mentioned that he has significant symptoms, it would be best if he has a proper evaluation of his problems, so that a correct diagnosis can be made and he can be helped. So, I would advise you to take him to a psychiatrist for a detailed evaluation and further help.
Wish you all the best.
