Is Crunching Sound In Hip With Every Movement After Hip Replacement Normal?

I have had a hip replacement and last night when I bent over I felt a pop and now my hip is crunching with every movement and it gets worse when I put weight on it. It feels like there is sand and rocks in the joint. Should I worry or is this something that will work its way out?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Hip replacement is a major surgical procedure. Cripitus or clipping sounds after joint replacement is not normal. Do not ignore. Go to the surgeon who operated on you (if possible). It must be investigated & treated accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Nirmal Chander Gupta, Orthopaedic Surgeon
