Is Continuing Ayurvedic Treatment For Vitiligo Suggestible?

My 11 year old daughter is suffering from vitiligo since 5.5 years. It started with a patch on the left chest which slowly increased. We initially tried homeopathy but the patches increased and spread to the right feet. Then we tried allopathy with psoraleen tablets and sitting in the sun, but initially the patches decreased and then increased again. We then tried ayurved with UVB radiation and got good results. Right now there are 3 very small patches on the left chest and the patch on the right feet too has reduced to half the size. Please suggest me further line of treatment. She is under strict diet restrictions and does not eat fermented and sour food. How long should i continue with these restrictions?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

There is no cure for vitiligo, and it is usually a lifelong condition.
The exact cause is unknown, but it may be due to an autoimmune disorder or a virus.
Treatment options may include exposure to UVA or UVB light and depigmentation of the skin in severe cases.
The diet should be maintained for all life.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Kind regards!
