Hi,

Whether colostomy reversal is possible after diverticulitis surgery depends on the individual case and the specific details of your surgery. Generally, a colostomy is done as a temporary measure in cases of diverticulitis, and colostomy reversal is possible once the infection is cleared and the colon is healed. However, certain factors may impact the success of colostomy reversal, such as the extent of the diverticulitis, the length of time you had a colostomy, and any complications that may have arisen during or after surgery.

It is important to discuss your options and concerns with your doctor, who can provide you with a more accurate assessment of your specific case. They will be able to advise you on whether colostomy reversal is possible for you, and what the potential risks and benefits may be.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
