Is Chlamydia Sexually Transmitted?

I was diagnosed w chlamydia. My partner and I were both treated the same day with the single dose azythromycin. We then had protected sex on day 4 and 5 after taking it. Will we be reinfected? My dr. Office said I have to wait 3 months to get retested. I m not comfortable with that.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
The treatment protocol for chlamydia is right for you and your partner.
The re-test can be done after 3 months because it is the antibody which is tested for chlamydia.
The production and detection of relevant antibodies takes 3 months thus, you have been asked to wait for 3 months.
Till the time the infection is cured, it is advisable to practice safe sex.

Thanks and take care
