Is Chemotherapy Safe In Lymphocytic Leukemia Patients?

I have a friend that was just diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. They did a bone marrow biopsy today. He s been sick a few months but didn t seek medical attention because he s also a heroine addict. He s only 30 yrs old. They want to start chemo...what are his chances? How will chemo effect his immune system?

Treatment of leukemia is chemotherapy. Acute lymphoblastic leukemia invariably leads to death without treatment. With treatment there are 30 to 40 percent chances of cure depending on the centre. Since there are chances of cure, therapy should not be neglected
