Is Bruising And Lump Below The Knee A Cause For Concern?
Hi I hit my right inner leg just below the knee really hard about a month ago. It bruised and now I'm left with a lump the size of a walnut and quite tender. Will it disappear without treatment and should I be concerned about it.. 55 yr old female thanks
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have bruising and lump below the knee. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like infection , bakers cyst, sebaceous cyst , varicose vein , ganglion , lymphadenopathy or knee injury. I would suggest you to Consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan , MRI or physical examination . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics at least for 5 days along with anti inflammatory . Doctor may also recommend surgical removal of cyst. For now apply warm compresses , knee your leg elevated while sleeping and take ibuprofen or amphetamine for pain .
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
