Is Blood Poisoning Curable?

I just found out that a friend of mine from Australia was diagnosed about 6 to 8 months ago with blood poisoning from breathing in chemicals from his (now ex) job. He was in the hospital but is now out. He says he has weekly blood transfusions and needs new organs. Is there a chance he will survive? If he gets new organs will the poisoning ever be out of his system?

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

it is a serious condition. as you have mentioned he needs multiple organ transplantation it suggests that it has effected the organs badly. he will be undergoing dialysis to get rid of poision . hope he get donors and his body respond well to transplantations.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
